5th Edition--December 22, 2011

December 22, 2011Walkerly Reader, Edition Five
Hey Fans!  We have met Robert Arquette’s challenge of 6,000 signatures in record time!  Our fearless leader, Kaeleen Ringberg, has issued a new challenge…
Editor’s Note:  When Ashland and Bayfield Counties met their goal on December 2, of 3500 signatures (1/4 of the voters who had voted in the last election), Robert Arquette, the Bayfield County Coordinator for United Wisconsin, issued us all a challenge that we could reach for 6,000 signatures.  Well, in two and a half weeks, you did just that.  Thanks to the many efforts of those who went door-to-door in Washburn, Ashland, Bad River and Red Cliff, to those who sponsored drive-throughs throughout our two counties, to those of you who stood out in the cold, and carried the petitions under your arms to holiday events, and to all others of you who did whatever you could to give ourselves a very fine Christmas present.  Now Kaeleen is asking us to go for another 1,000 by New Year’s.
 Message from Kaeleen Ringberg:
Good Evening folks! I am proudly announcing that we have officially
sent out over 6,000 signatures from the Ashland Office! This is an
amazing feat everyone and I am so incredibly proud of everyone
involved, whether you have gotten 2 signatures or 200 or simply signed
your self, you have all helped make history in recalling Scott Walker.
Madison has taken notice of us up here in the Northwoods. Douglas
county is leading the state in per capita signatures and the Cheq Bay
is not far behind! I am now issuing a challenge: CAN WE GET 1,000
SIGNATURES BY NEW YEARS?

I think we can. I know we can. Lets ring in the new year with 7,000
signatures under our belt. How will we do this? Make sure all your
friends and family have signed. Get your petitions to the office, If
you can't make it to the office, I will be available to do coordinated
pick ups and so will others. If you want to volunteer, this will be a
busy couple of days at the post office, and the roads will be busy
early in the week for stop and drive activity. Keep up the good work!

Solidarity!,
Kaeleen Ringberg
Message from Kathy Tenney, Ashland office coordinator
Greetings Friends and Coworkers.

As most of you all know we've been doing great with the amount of signatures we've taken in for our two counties.  A lot of folks have worked hard and tirelessly for this to happen.  Special thanks go out to Kaeleen Ringberg for her lovely spirit, steadfast energy, direction and committment to this process.  I've but in a lot of hours these past several weeks and enjoyed every minute of it.  I regret to say that because of health reasons I need to back out of my role in the office and the hours I hoped I would continue to put in in the coming weeks.  I had signed up for Mon thru Fri morning hours 9 to 12. We need others to step forward to fill this time slot starting on December 26th. on. I will still be in at times and pick up limited hours when no one else can, as I am able.  I'll miss you guys and the satisfaction of doing this crucial work.  Warm regards and Happy Holidays to all.
Onward and Upward,
Kathy Tenney
Some other enthusiastic emails I’ve received since our last edition (from Dave Doering and Robert Arquette):

folks,
ya done well!
We got at least 60 signatures today. considering how many people have already signed and that there are approximately 510 people who would sign in Russell this is excellent. > 10% in one day, one event.
Please forward this on to anyone i may have missed and/or anyone you think would like to know.
Many thanx to everyone who contributed, everyone who encouraged/supported us.
 Onward! to 720,000 sigs!

 Sincerely,
Your tired but happy editor, Mary Rehwald
